Fishing has slowed offshore. There are still some Lake Trout being caught in 80-90 feet if water. The water has cooled down in front of the piers and some Steelhead and Brown are being caught in boats and from the piers. Walleye fishing in Lake Macatawa has gotten good lately, but you have to do a lot of sorting. Best baits for Lake Trout have been Silver Streak Floggers and Spin-N-Glows; for Steelhead the best have been Silver Streak Minis in orange and gold Colors.

May 31, 2016 - There are salmon being caught in 140-190 feet of water north of Holland and there are still lake trout in 89-90 feet of water.  Siler Streak Mag Viper and Lemon Berry spoons have been best.  In Lake Macatawa the blue gills are starting to move on to beds.

MAY 23, 2016 - Fishing continues to be good out of Holland again this week. There are 2 batches of fish out there right now: 50-80 feet of water is holding good numbers of Lake Trout with a few Cohos and Kings mixed in. The second batch is out in 200-200 feet of water where good catches of Coho can be had along with some Kings and Steelhead. When fishing for the Lake Trout, Dodgers and Spin-n-Glows are the best baits right now. When offshore, spoons are the best baits fishing from the surface on down to 70 FOW.
